I had to try....
So....besides the fact that:
a. I don't have my muscle fully back in my leg,
b. My balance has always sucked
c. People telling me "you should let things heal"
d. I was supposed to be dancing
Well....screw it all! I wanted to see if I could get back on skates. And really, besides feeling like I was dragging around a boat anchor...I rolled my way around the track, did some small yet fancy moves, tried a few cross-overs and well....did that for about 25mins. I'd say....I'm on the right track for getting back into derby. And this stubborn attitude....well I have my family to thank for that....
My mom who is still playing hockey in her 60's with 20-year-olds, my dad who has never given up and always stood his ground, my gramma who will eat hot dogs for dinner every day of the week if she feels like it and nobody can tell her anything different. Then there are those beside me....my brothers....damn....I think the stubborn lesson rubbed off on all of us! One of my brothers has (I think) gotten every freakin' short straw...and yet, he is one of the most positive driven people I know. And my youngest brother, has the bravery to move out West looking for his path in life. Ha ha ha....how did anyone ever think they would talk me out of doing something?!...I am unsure!
So...next up.....snowboarding again!!! (Although, I will retake lessons....I may be stubborn, but I'm also super safety gal!)
