Adventures in the Park

Sometimes it takes that unexpected invitation, chance encounter or even a spark of imagination to make someone's day (or even your own).  I ended up on a walk through Gatineau Park this weekend and it was enjoyable on so many levels. It may sound strange, and sometimes it may not appear to others as being anything worth writing about, but sometimes that call to a friend to take a drive, a walk, have brunch, go to a movie, play Wii...can brighten a day that otherwise could have just been like any other day filled with routine, consistency, or in my case, attempting to house clean.

Although I may have been overly talkative (shocking!), I did also have time to reflect and be happy for the people and memories in my life.  I remember...
Breakfast in bed....bacon...
Easter fun when I was younger (hiding the fruit basket of Justin as he hid mine)
Soaking up the sun and falling asleep in the park in the midst of reading a book
Getting pjs from Mom (it was always a tradition for Easter which I'm trying to keep alive)
Grace Wattams and Florence Dennison-Broad for being an inspiration throughout my early years in church
The amazing friends I have made through dancing in Ottawa
My grandparents who inspired me and my parents who said I could do anything I put my mind/ heart to
Venturing (a far walking distance) on crutches for a foie gras, champagne picnic and great conversation
All the cats and dogs I've had throughout my life
Hunting with Papa and learning to skin a deer from him
Camping and the joys of being outdoors
Happiness at the knowledge that there are many grand days/ weeks/ months/ years to come...
