"Bug" Year (2012)
So...I have surfaced and survived the move into 2013. And I have to say...usually my odd years old tend to be the best.....but I think that the mix of 2013 and turning 36 in a mere two weeks will be absolutely glorious!
I read somewhere that at the end of each year, you should compile it all together into one word to describe. So....on that theme (loosely-based of course), I am going to name 2012 "Bug"
A brief mix of things that took place in my Bug year:
Dance:
1. Got a little more serious about Pole Dancing
2. Auditioned and was accepted onto a Solo Charleston Team (not having danced Charleston since that one day in Grade 9 gym).
3. Competed in a Blues competition at the Canadian Swing Championships (without ever having danced Blues and having no clue how it was supposed to look).
4. Took up West Coast Swing after a guy was adament I was completely clueless and didn't know how to anchor, and after my first class in the series, auditioned for a performance team (which this same person praised me on my anchor step...he had no idea who I was.)...made the Bootcamp and the performance team.
5. Seriously got back into Ballroom with eyes to the horizon of competition.
Swim:
1. Got my butt back in the pool (which helped my leg to the extreme!)
2. Finally got my stroke recorded for video analysis and comments.
Gym:
1. Changed gyms.
2. Started a new workout plan that has me rockin' the workouts more.
Transportation:
1. Threw caution to the wind and sold my Jeep.
Housing:
1. Took a rent increase as a sign to finally more a little more upscale:)
2. Began downsizing!!!
Travel:
1. Vegas
2. England
3. Virginia
4. Washington
5. Vancouver
6. Small trips to Montreal
What else happened in Bug? Well....I started scheming and plotting a variety of adventures which include (but are definintely not limited to)....I still of course want to go to Russia (but my bro needs to brush up on his Russian!), plans have been set in motion to go to: England, France, Hawaii, Vegas, short weekend roadtrips, etc...
I've started prepping with a new dance partner for the Westie, Blues styles dances in hopes to compete. I've started to learn routines for Standard International ballroom dancing to compete in October. And I'm still on the lookout for a partner to compete with me in Latin....
Only time will tell, but I definitely have to say...I got the Bug in 2012!!!
