To dance, to laugh, to savour the moment

Perfect time to give a big shout-out and virtual hugs to my awesome dance partner (Davester) who helped make our first Westie Strictly (Open) at Canadian Swing Championship (CSC) 2013 absolutely amazing. We placed 4th!!!
Some of the things I learned:
1. Check the schedule first so it's not a mad rush to get ready for the comp. (and gives time to warm-up/ practise).
2. Allow for at least two hours to prep (yep, I'm a girl), I want my hair and make-up to be just perfect.
3. Costumes/ colour-matching outfits really DO make you feel more connected to a dance partner.
4. Smile, smile, smile....it all comes down to experiencing and savouring the amazing moments (and knowing that a camera will be capturing those wicked moves).
5. Practise, practise, practise...it makes all the difference.6. Jumping at the chance for private lessons, workshops and watching an insane amount of Youtube videos can really bring some "wow" to the floor (really want to focus more on those great opportunities in the upcoming months and years...)
And lastly, the best thing I learned from this experience...my dance partner is amazing and patient, we looked good (finally got to see some pics of us dancing), and no matter what...first and foremost it's all about having fun and the memories that are made (everything else comes after that!)
